Periodically I compose songs to use in the videos I produce about wildlife, or just for relaxation. I've included some here along with a sample of each. These songs are available to purchase should you so desire and are listed in the catalog items under the Shopping Cart. All of the proceeds will help finance the continuing research of the Fishtrap pack in northwest Montana. Songs will be added in the future so please come back and sample them!

 

The Carpathians

The Carpathian Mountains are located in Romania, and are renowned for their spectacular beauty. They are also the home of Europe's largest wolf population. This song has a hint of eastern European sound and is the track used in the Fishtrap Pack Wolf Video. This is one of my favorites.

Timber

As corny as it may sound, I composed a song about my dog Timber. She is 15 years old and we have been together since she was nine weeks of age. Although she was very young, I was already her third owner. She had been beaten by the previous owner and tied to a tree for long periods of time. Consequently, she and I have had quite a journey for a decade and a half. She has also been my survey partner for the past 14 years and we've found many wolves together. As her life draws to a close, I have many thoughts of how our existence has been so intertwined. Therefore, the song has a reflective nature at the beginning to portray her difficult entrance into this world, and again at the end of the song, as the life force drains from her a little bit each day. In the middle, however, the song portrays a life lived fully and completely.

The First Snowfall

Montana winters are beautiful. When the snow falls deep in the woods, the silence is almost a song in and of itself. The air is crisp and clear, and the snow is clean and pure. This is also the exact moment when I realize it will take me hours to shovel the stuff out of my driveway when I get home.
